Pax World was founded in Portsmouth, NH in 1971. In August of that year, we launched the first publicly available, socially responsible mutual fund – the predecessor of our current Pax World Balanced Fund. Since that time, Pax World has been a respected leader in the SRI industry. Today, Pax World is a pioneer in an investment movement that is broadening the concept of investment analysis – Sustainable Investing. Drawing on our considerable analytical experience, we go beyond traditional financial metrics and scrutinize additional factors that often can have as much, if not more, influence on companies’ investment performance. We are speaking of companies’ environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) performance. The increased level of scrutiny that characterizes our investment process helps us identify forward-thinking companies that meet positive standards of corporate responsibility. At the same time, it helps us eliminate companies from our portfolios that may have questionable practices or hidden problems.
