A Local Printer was founded way back in 1978 and became a limited company in 1981. In those days we were called Weald Printers (and later Weald Print Solutions); a reference to our location at Billingshurst in the heart of the Weald and Downland area of Sussex. Back then we operated out of a chicken shed with platen letterpress (raised metal type) printing technology. In fact, we still have the platen machine today; it has been converted for finishing items such as kiss cut labels and die-cut flyers. Of course, we dont use it for printing anymore! Many staff have come and gone over the years but Jeff, Andy and Roger joined us in those early days and are still with us today, as are many of our loyal local customers. We invested in litho printing technology and moved to larger premises in the mid 1980s and continued to operate as a traditional local print shop throughout the eighties and nineties.
