Energia Ltd. - Targovishte was set up in 1971 under the license of the German company Varta. The company initially specialized in manufacturing lead-acid tubular batteries for the forklift trucks in Bulgaria. The companys main facilities are continually modernized, the widest ranging renovation being carried out with the help of the Chloride - England. Today Energia facilities cover 206 000 sq.m., incl. 58 600 sq.m. of buildings. There are three main production units, three servicing ones, warehouses and a heating station. The production facilities allow us to close the production cycle, that is we can manufacture all the basic details and parts for the assembly of the batteries. The company has 650 employees. The average annual amount of processed lead and lead alloys is 10 000 tons. This is being processed into 1 000 000 cells of the average type. The companys annual production investments range between 500 000 and 1 000 000 EUR. On the basis of the continuous implementation of modern equipment and state-of-the-art technologies as well as through the co-operation with various Western European companies today the quality of the products meets the best world of this kind. In accordance with the highest markets demands Energia Ltd. has been certified under EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality System. The company products are also certified under TECHNOTEST - Bulgaria, TUV Rheinland EURQUA - Germany and CKB - SVYAZ - Russia, MERTCONTROL - Hungary and TRANSMAG - Academy of Sciences - Ukraine.
