Politicos Bookstore in Something Directory

 

Politicos Bookshop was started by the political journalist Iain Dale in February 1997 as a physical bookshop near the Houses of Parliament. It quickly established itself as the leading political bookshop in London, and became a popular haunt of MPs, lobbyists, reporters, academics, and students who wanted the latest, but also the oldest, books on politics. In 1999 Iain launched the Politicos website, which allowed him to provide more depth of stock and to reach new customers around the world. In 2005, the website had overtaken the bookshop and expanded to such a size that Iain decided to shut the shop, and two years later he handed the reins of the website to the Global-Investor group which was better equipped to cope with the growth. He went on to become Britains most read political blogger and to co-found the political internet TV channel, 18 Doughty Street.
