The publishing company began in 1968 in Wells, Vermont by James Fraser, Chartered Financial Analyst and leader of the Contrary Opinion investment philosophy. Jim reads widely, writes his own financial newsletters and manages over $280 million in investment funds. He realized the importance and wisdom of the older out-of-print books on investment philosophy and began reprinting them in small quantities to distribute to his friends and colleagues. The demand grew enough to make it a business on its own and in 1969 both companies were moved to 309 South WillardStreet in Burlington, Vermont. In 2002, Fraser Publishing was sold to Mark Shepardson and moved to Flint Hill, Virgina at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. His belief in Jims philosophies and his desire to continue Fraser Publishing in the same vein ensures that contrarians will have a source of hard-to-find investment titles for years to come.
