Pitmon and Pitmon Publishing was formed to give guidance to urban dwellers in preparing for different types of disaster situations. There are numerous books on the market that teach you how to survive in the wilderness, but few that teach you how to survive in a disaster ridden city. Knowing how to survive in the wilderness is helpful, but you still need to know how to prepare yourself for the populated area disaster. Snares and berries may not be available in the downtown urban area, but looters, crumbling buildings, and downed power lines will be. I am a firm believer in having citizens prepare to care for themselves, having food, medical supplies, necessary equipment, and protection. Our goal is to give ideas to help save lives and make life a little more comfortable during the initial phases of the disaster.
