James Currey Publishers are leading academic publishers on Africa, specializing in archaeology, history, politics, development studies, economics, anthropology, gender studies, literary criticism, theatre and film studies. Our publishing includes the following series: African Issues, Eastern African Studies, Western African Studies, Social History of Africa, UNESCO General History of Africa, African Theatre, African Literature Today, World Anthropology, and the School for Advanced Research, Advanced Research Seminar Series. Readers series are being developed in collaboration with the International African Institute and the Review of African Political Economy. We aim for the widest accessibility possible, publishing most titles simultaneously in cloth and paperback editions, and having an active policy of co-publishing in Africa and North America.
