Founded in 1999, BikeSmart.com is the online venture of Mikes Bicycle Centers of Northern California. Mikes Bikes was founded in 1964 as Marin Countys first Schwinn shop. Rumor has it that our store in San Rafael was home to some of the first mountain bikes in the country. Over the years, cycling has changed dramatically, but Mikes Bikes has always remained dedicated to the cycling community. Today, Mikes Bikes is part of a growing family of local bike shops, all with a singular purpose - to get as many lucky people on bikes as possible. We are locally owned and operate four wildly successful stores in San Rafael, Berkeley, Sausalito and Palo Alto and our staff of over 60 incredible people will ensure that your experiences both in the store and on your bike are the best they can be.
