Top Hat Training in Something Directory

We noticed some time ago that although there are many equestrian videos in the marketplace most of them are either one offs or staged to show a particular movement with a superb horse and very good rider which although interesting to watch often leaves the viewer feeling perhaps inadequate and unable to attain that standard. Very rarely are you shown the mistakes which horse and rider invariably make in the training process which we feel gives a more realistic and educational approach to the training process. In addition to this although we have some wonderful trainers it is often difficult for the average horse person to have access to their training techniques because invariably these trainers are extremely busy, very costly and often abroad. The idea behind TopHat Training is to make the training ideals of world class trainers more accessible to the equestrian world as a whole and TopHat Training are delighted to present the training methods of CHRISTOPHER BARTLE. Christopher Bartle is one of very few riders in the world who has achieved international success in both three day eventing and pure dressage. A member of the British Dressage team from 1981 to 1987 he still remains today the highest placed British Dressage Rider in the Olympic Games. In addition to this he was a member of the Three Day Event gold medal winning British team in the European Championships in 1997 and went on to win Badminton Horse Trial in 1998 on Word Perfect. Christopher was dressage trainer to the British Olympic Three Day Event Team in Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000. He was awarded honorary fellowship of the British Horse Society in 2001. Rather than producing one off staged videos TopHat Training has spent many months with Christopher Bartle videoing lessons given to a variety of pupils at his home base the These lessons have not been scripted and show Christophers pupils using his training methods to persuade the horse to go in the correct way. Christopher constantly emphasises how the position of the rider affects the horse and the expectations the rider should have of himself/herself and their horse. The aim of each video is to show both novice and more advanced horse and rider combinations training in the three disciplines of 3 day eventing. However the videos have a distinct emphasis towards dressage and schooling as Christopher believes this is the basis of training a horse for all three disciplines.
