Showing Time is a family run business owned by me, Kate Rust and based in the beautiful village of Bethersden in Kent. Here I am in one of our own jackets. We are proud that we are one of the very few British companies left that make our own jackets and coats here in our workshop using British cloths. We have a large range of items made up in sizes ranging from VERY large to VERY small and can also supply a comprehensive made to measure service. In the last year we have invested in new cutting, pressing and sewing machinery and with a dedicated team of machinists are able to make up most items within three weeks. As well as our off the peg items, we can also offer our popular bespoke service where garments are tailor made or altered to each customer’s specifications and measurements to ensure a perfect fit. We are delighted that we have won the South Eastern regional final of the Best Rural Retailer 2007 Best Traditional Business catagory. The finals are to be held at the House of Lords in February. Michelle Nudds, from the judging panel said “they offer a very professional and friendly service where nothing is too much trouble for Kate and her team. They are always eager to help and offer advice, and they will always try to obtain goods when required, even if they dont stock them. It takes courage to make hunt coats and to start a small business in the current political climate and their quality and design is outstanding. Our rural heritage has a future thanks to businesses like this.”
