The Coaching Store (Be a Better Coach) in Something Directory
We are not an all-inclusive Sporting Goods Store. We are interested in what youth sports coaches want and need. We have taken surveys to find out what coaches would like to see on this site and which brand names they are most interested in. We admit that our surveys are not 100% accurate. We are willing to change brands, change products, or add other sports. You tell us what you want and if enough coaches agree, you will find it on here. We want this web-site to be formed by the coaches and we expect the manufacturers to listen. Also, if you are looking for something that you cannot find here, please take into account that through our retail store, Coach & Play Team Sports, we sell thousands of other products not on this site. Through Coach & Play we not only sell retail but we sell League Direct. The president and founder of this company is Vince Ballardo. He has been coaching youth sports for over 25 years. He started when he was 18, coaching his nephews and nieces. He coached his son for several years and his son is now in high school. He continues to coach other kids in community youth leagues. The only time he has not coached was during a period when he had cancer. In his mid-thirties he got leukemia. He had a bone-marrow transplant from an unrelated donor and was given a small percentage chance of survival. As soon as he was able to, he started coaching again. To this day, because of continual rejection problems, there are days that are difficult just for him to get out of bed. But because of his love of coaching, he continues to influence today’s youth. In 1999 he became one of the first recipients of Legoland’s Heart of Learning Awards for his positive influence on children and his willingness to coach through an adverse situation. Vince realizes how lucky he is and this site will donate 10% of its profits to cancer research. Today’s world has a lot of kids that want to play sports but very few organizations can find enough coaches. This site not only sells products to assist coaches but also seeks to find new coaches. This site is looking for those parents that are thinking about coaching but for some reason decide not to
